Missing You Card with Colors and Flowers

Today, I give one of the cards that I made a little twist to create a new version for my mother-in law who now live away in TN. This is a card design the holds a very special place in my heart. This is the first card that I got repost on Instagram. This is the start of finding my card-making style. This is the card that give me the idea that maybe I can start my own YouTube channel. This is the card gave me the feeling like it's mean to be.

I first created a colorful background with copic markers and yupo paper. I showed the process in the video so make sure you watch it. With help from cotton balls and rubbing alcohol, it's very easy to achieve the blooming effect that I really like.

For the flowers, I added and sparkle by heat embossing with some Judikins iridescent embossing powder using a text background stamp "Love is" from Simon Says Stamp. Instead of cover the whole flowers, using a text stamp will add sparkles here and there with a nice subtle texture.

I then white heat embossed the "missing you always" sentiment on a vellum strip to go over the alcohol ink piece. Arranged on the vellum flowers. And to finish it off, added some custom-colored enamel dots in the middle of each flower.

Compare to the original one I created(you can find it HERE), it has a softer look which I really like. And the custom-colored enamel dots match my background perfectly also.

I can't wait to send this card to my mother-in-law. As we moved away from MO, my mother-in-law also decided she will go live in TN to be closer to her sister which I'm very happy for her. But we do miss her lots and lots. She and I have a lot of commons, and we both love crafting. I am very thankful to have a mother-in-law like her.
